Another more suitable oil, at $8 per qt. is the Mobile 4 stroke motorcycle 10/40 oil (designed for gear box and clutch too), sold by Auto Zone and Checker. This cycle oil is also full synthetic and can be bought in either 10/40 or 20/50. The 10/40 works excellent in my Savage, but the 20/50 did cause clutch slippage.

The 10/40 is said to be designed for high performance motorcycle use, while the 20/50 4 stroke motorcycle oil says "V" twin motorcycle. Perhaps the "V" twin oil is like Harley Davidson oil (not used for gear box and clutch).
